Turning you into flame

I can't remember the last time I burned through a series like this. Maybe Game of Thrones? I'm glad I discovered it after the whole thing has been written and published.
Laurence and Temeraire continue to be amazing. Book 5 basically ripped my heart out. Laurence's absolute devastation and depression and the gift of Temeraire's POV and his love and guilty conscience over the consequences to Laurence's life and honor. The addition of Temeraire's POV from book 5 on is so interesting because you can really see how he and Laurence are so perceptive about each other in some things and in other things they're absolutely not, but there's still no terrible internal conflict between them because even when they're not truly in accord they love each other so much and are always willing to bend for each other. This is the kind of relationship I always want for all characters I love.
I also enjoy the absolute pettiness between Temeraire and Iskierka and their desire to see their captains constantly bedecked in gold and jewels, much to Laurence and Granby's chagrin. The times they just give in are hilarious.
I'd love to see this as a TV series although I'm sure the CGI would be prohibitive. My fancast for Laurence is Toby Stephens who was amazing as Captain Flint in Black Sails.
I have the last two books on my Kindle. Back to it now.
