Carl and Princess Donut ily. I haven't had this level of reading obsession in awhile. I'm over here going through like 200 pages a day. There's one more book published and technically I could buy it on Kindle immediately but it comes out in print on the 23rd and I need to actually get some things in my life together before I lose another week to a 900 page book.
This week also finished out my two current weekly TV shows:
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (season 3): Going to be honest, this was a disappointing season to me. I was already not a fan of the whole Spock/Chapel drama so continuing it on was annoying and then the immediate Spock/La'an relationship? Can the writers really not find something more for Spock--character of all time Spock--to do than have relationship drama? Pacing the finale to be based off of episode 5 which had almost no reference in the 4 episodes between was also a miss and overall this season was very campy which I understand is on brand for like TOS but my favorite Star Trek stuff is Discovery and the reboot movies so it's not what I'm interested in.
Foundation (season 3): Okay, now this I loved. Beautifully shot, insanely well acted (I know I've talked about Lee Pace but Terrence Mann, this was your season), the pieces build up but it's still suspenseful and surprising, and it does not flinch. Loved the Mule lead up and reveal. The flashback change to the truth of what happened was brutal. Demerzel! Day! Darkness!! I didn't even remember that Brother Darkness was a thing and it works so well with the galaxy descending into The Darkness. Glad they announced the season 4 renewal before this finale because wow.
Also, 'certain dramatic events have transpired' will be entering my lexicon.
