Super late posting this roll up but I did finish a few more books before 2019 was over.

Finished Reading:
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Beautifully written. I can't say I really care much about The Iliad but this gave some nice depth and the writing was worth it.

The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie. Loved this. More even than the Ancillary series I think. It's written in second person, which I personally enjoy, and the slow, unfolding twists are really well done.

Also I remembered the other book I read back in November and it was a poetry anthology. War of the Foxes by Richard Siken. It was okay but I didn't think it was great. Crush I remember being great and was actually what I wanted to re-read but the library didn't have it.

Final Count:
23 new books, 5 re-reads, 3 short stories & 1 poetry anthology. I feel like I read more than this! But I did drop a few books that I got a good ways into and wasn't enjoying. And this generally met my goal of 2 books a month and is way more than I've been reading published books in the past several years so I'll call it a win. Same goal for 2020!

Favorite book(s) of 2019: Temeraire series by Naomi Novik.

It took me a while to get into the 2nd person narration, but once I got the hang of it, I loved The Raven Tower.

I absolutely agree with dropping books you aren't into. It's a waste of your time trying to read something you don't enjoy.
