Finished Reading:
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. This was fine but I don't feel like it was the amazing thriller it was billed as.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Fantastic. Really nicely written. Non-linear and I liked all the character POV threads that came together. Sometimes with things that switch characters a lot there's a character or two that I'm like 'argh I have to read a chapter about Cersei to get back to the rest'. I do wish I'd maybe read this at a different time. It's about a flu pandemic that causes modern society to break down.
Reliquary by Martha Wells. SGA tie in novel! This is a re-read and I love it.
I'm also excited for the new Murderbot novel in May. I'd kind of like to go see Martha Wells do a reading in May. Probably doable but it would be a long drive. (Also, would it be weird to go to a library event that's not my library system??)
And I finished the 2 medical adjacent books I was reading. Will I do anything with this information, probably not, but I appreciate having it.
Now Reading:
The Guns of August by Barbara W. Tuchman. I really want to read it for some reason and I've tried to before but it's just very dense for me.
Up Next:
I have so many things from the library and on hold. I'm thinking The Passage by Justin Cronin which was referenced in passing in Station Eleven. Although, wow it's a brick. And apparently the start of a trilogy.
