It was pretty much what I was looking for in the sense of being something new I generally enjoyed but don't feel fannish about. I already have two new hyperfixations in Shadowhunters and The Old Guard, I don't need another. I really want to watch The Untamed which everyone is into now but I feel like I would get sucked in too far.
The Umbrella Academy is about siblings and time travel which are themes I enjoy. The dynamic with all the siblings being the same age is interesting. Even though I don't feel fannish about it, I checked the top kudos fics on AO3 because I like to see what the fandom id is about things and there is so much gen fic at the top! A unicorn in fandom! I love gen but I still usually search and sort based on a ship tag. I know I just said I'm not fannish about this but I'm probably going to read some.
In other news, I'm waging a war against an asshole spider that I'm 90% sure lives in my couch. Frankly, I'm losing. Badly. My legs have hideous red bites surrounded by purple bruises. I've washed and vacuumed everything and used so much hydrocortisone cream. I'm wearing long pants in 100 degree weather. Nothing is working. I mean, I know it's not the spider's fault but fuck this, ow.
