Happy New Year's Eve! Closing out this year's reading list before my traditional Lord of the Rings marathon.
Finished Reading:
Crush by Richard Siken. Re-read. I don't read a lot of poetry but I enjoy it. Litany in Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out is one of my favorites.
Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline. I should have failed out on this one but instead I hate-read it through.
Tales From The Folly by Ben Aaronovitch. Short story collection from the Rivers of London series. I enjoyed this. Short stories are a nice format for my sometimes poor attention span.
Now Reading:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. Re-read.
Failed Out:
Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey. I wanted to like this but I kept getting thrown out by the weird misogyny. Genuinely how many times does this man have to reminisce about the incompetence of his one female colleague? I guess I won't be finding out.
Final Count:
14 new books, 6 re-reads. Not a great reading year but this was not a great year overall..
Favorite book(s) of 2020: Network Effect by Martha Wells & Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty
