In your own space, talk about your Happy Place—the things that give you joy, calms you or keeps you sane.

I have a specific corner of my very comfy couch from which I can optimally watch TV (consume new or old favorite canons!) and connect all my various devices for interacting with fandom whether it's reading fic, writing fic or reccing fic, enjoying gif sets or people's commentary or any of the other multitudes of joy fandom contains.

My most particular happy place within that is reading fic. Imagine me on my couch with my Kindle grasped in my grateful hands and constantly open to at least three AO3 tabs. I love going back to re-read comforting old favorites that I already know I love. I love finding new content for my old fandoms. I love joining new fandoms at the height of their popularity where there is a new fic generated every minute. I love joining fandoms late and immediately having a wealth of amazing fic to read. It's a wonderful comfort to know that there are people out there that love the things I love and are kind enough to share their hard work!

I convientantly got the bigger couch by default because it does face the TV directly, but it just means i can spread out which works fine.

Yep - always nice to have somewhere comfortable to watch TV and browse online as well - sounds like a lovely happy place!

I have a few old long fanfiction stories I would re-read, again and again...they give me happiness inside and leads me into their world/realm/universe which is always nice.

Also, I looooove your Sheppard icon! :D

I definitely have some favorite stories where if they were physical books they'd be falling apart from love and use like the Velveteen Rabbit.

It is such a nice icon that captures what I like about Sheppard! I wish I could remember who made it. Bless them. Love yours too :)

The thing I regret about my current apartment is I don't really have a comfy space like that. (I'm in a studio without space for much extra furniture. I'm hoping I can move when the lease comes due. I want to have a place that's not just comfortable to me, but comfortable for guests as well.)

That sounds delightful!
I'm still trying to figure out the best setup for all my devices on my couch - I tend to hang out at my kitchen counter and my pets get the new comfy couch. (/grrrr)

The secret for my devices all keeping good proximity to the couch is a power strip. All the funny shaped plugs definitely wouldn't fit into the single close outlet without it. But I'm sure your pets appreciate the comfy couch :)
