Happy End of 2018

smilebackwardsI'm not sure why but on New Year's Eve I somehow, inevitably fall back into Lord of the Rings so I expect I'll be marathoning that tonight. Also, I went to read some Legolas/Gimli fic on AO3 and quick PSA and reminder for myself if this happens in the future: one of my fics had disappeared and I was like ?!.
I thought I could probably dig it out of my hard drive and re-post but then all the beautiful comments would be lost. I was about to put in a support ticket just to check if anything could be done to figure out what happened and then I had a thought about some kind of bug with being in a collection I thought I'd heard of where the collection owner could accidentally delete works in the collection. So I checked my Collections list from my dashboard and luckily discovered that my fic was still there! The real issue was not full deletion but that somehow the collection had gone into unrevealed status like they do for Yuletide until the collection release date. I removed my fic from the collection and after a few minutes it reappeared in my Works, comments all safe \o/
It's extra odd because I can go to the JRRau collection it was in and even though it says Unrevealed, Anonymous for the collection, I have no issue seeing other people's works and mine still appears to be in there. Ah, the joy of computer code sometimes!
