I love how many avenues there are to love Les Mis. Last week I went to a theater production of Les Mis and it was awesome! And then I finally watched Les Mis (2012) which is the newer, musical one and it was also great. Hugh Jackman is a blessing. Also Aaron Tveit and George Blagen. I fully understand why Les Mis (2012) apparently had a large fandom which I sadly missed by about 6 years as is my tradition with popular fandoms. People produced a huge amount of fantastic fic. Have a couple Enjolras/Grantaire recs:

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie a lot. I didn't hate Russell Crowe which I guess a lot of people did? I mean I don't particularly like Russell Crowe and I think they could have found a stronger Javert but I didn't find him overly terrible. On the other hand, I do hate the Thenardiers (Eponine excepted of course), although they're meant to be terrible characters obviously. Please give me a version of Les Mis where their stuff is just cut out..
Someday I should probably read the actual Victor Hugo book. Possibly an abridged version because I've seen it called The Brick and I think it's over 1000 pages with 100s of pages of digressions into Parisian infrastructure and I don't know if I could handle that.
And now I'm going to go play some music from my Les Mis piano book which is one of the only music books I don't get tired of.
Honestly nothing but I think I'm going to poke at my Les Mis Olympics AU again because I'm in a Les Mis phase again.
