Challenge #1 - Introduce yourself

Hello! I've been in fandom for about 15 years now, wow. I love binge-watching TV, seeing all the latest movies, and reading books! My blog is mostly about all these things.

Top 5 forever fandoms are Star Wars, Stargate, Batman, Lord of the Rings, & X-Men. I'm currently doing my annual New Year's marathon of Lord of the Rings! Many other fandoms catch my attention at any given time, especially if they include found family or time travel. Latest faves are The Old Guard and Shadowhunters.

I also love to read and write fanfic, rec fanfic, and vid! (My works are on AO3 here!) I'd love to talk about any of these things. Feel free to drop a comment :)

I have other friends also doing a LOTR marathon this weekend! I love when folk have traditions like that!

Shadowhunters really is a found family and there are some awesome characters there. I didn't read the books but I adored the TV show and was really bummed when they ended it. Le sigh.

Hello (waves). I decided to come and say hi as I loved your icon, Stargate SG1 and SGA are two of my fandoms, although I read and write more in SGA these days. I took a fandom break between 2015 and 2019 and am only now catching up. I can't believe I haven't run across your fiction though. I have saved your AO3 page and the fic recommendations to indulge and enjoy once Snowflake is over. Thank you :)

The annual LOTR marathon is so rewarding. All these years later it stands up amazingly.

When Lorenzo said "It showed me family doesn't have to be something you're born into. Families can be made." 😭 I only watched the show too and I'm sad it's over but luckily there is lots of fic!

I love that Lord of the Rings is part of your New Year's tradition. I think I tend to rewatch it around Thanksgiving? Though, last year I dove back in at March and watched the extended editions over a few days. It's one of my forever fandoms too! :)

Glad to meet someone who's been in fandom for so many years! I entered in 2003 - only the HP fandom, and I'm still writing only in that one... And wow, I've met someone who's written about the Marauders, and Regulus!

The Stargate fandom was so active and vibrant back in the day. These days I dip my toes in to read the few fic that come to my attention.

Loved Shadowhunter! Magnus/Alec was my pairing of choice but I also loved the relationship between Alec and Izzy (though I'm never sure how I should spell her nickname).

The Old Guard was glorious in so many ways! ♥

HP was one of my gateway fandoms! I read somewhere that everyone in HP fandom has a secondary character they're overly invested in and Regulus Black is definitely mine.

I totally missed the Stargate heyday but I love the small, passionate fandom for it that still endures!

The Old Guard and Shadowhunters were my new 2020 fandom obsessions. I'm writing some Malec right now and I also love Alec and Izzy :)

Secondary character? :) Oh, you mean someone who's secondary to Harry in canon! Remus Lupin is definitely the primary character for me! I write about a lot of others, too, but the Marauders' generation are my favourites. Still, I've hardly written about Regulus myself, and perhaps that's why I'm particularly curious to read about him in fic.

Totally fair, Remus and the Marauders definitely get more page time than some other characters and have a large fanbase! Unclear why I latched onto the like 10 whole pages that involve Regulus - it's probably the tragic, abbreviated redemption arc. There are still people producing fic if you want to follow regulusblackfest!

I think I could have become a Regulus writer and enjoyed just the fact that there wasn't more about him in the books. The reason I couldn't was just that I'd become a Remus writer right after OotP, and all my fic is based only on the first five books. And I'm happy that there wasn't more about him and the other Marauders in those books, so there's more space for writing my story about them. Besides, I actually feel it's unfortunate that Remus/Sirius has been so popular. I'd prefer a smaller corner of fandom, where I'd know other writers and they'd notice my fic. In any case, I've recently got to know a Regulus writer among Wolfstar fans.

Hello! Absolutely, feel free. I love a good reference tutorial. Some kind soul made a how to host images on DW post that is a constant blessing to me. Glad new users will have this cool intro community :)
