all my reading from the last 6 months
Jun. 23rd, 2021 07:30 pmI keep forgetting to post about books so here's everything I've finished in the entirety of 2021 so far.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (reread). Enjoyed it (again). Also this was good timing because Shadow and Bone came out on Netflix. I wish it focused more on the Crows crew from this and Six of Crows but it was fun and I'm excited for more seasons.
Women and Girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Understanding Life Experiences from Early Childhood to Old Age by Sarah Hendrickx. I don't read a lot of nonfiction but this was really interesting.
Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell. Mutual pining and politics in space.
Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells. Murderbot murder mystery! Loved it.
Home by Martha Wells (short story). More Murderbot!
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. This started slow but I'm glad I continued because I ended up really liking it. Very unique, with an interesting cast of characters. It's kind of horror and there's a lot of character death which are usually things that I would veer away from but it compelled me. Also politics in space.
Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. Second in the series. There's one more forthcoming.
A Desolation Called Peace by Arkady Martine. Sequel to A Memory Called Empire. More politics in space.
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Some politics, mostly space. I think I preferred The Martian but it's been a while since I read that. Now I want to turn on the movie though. Anyway, I didn't love the narrative voice but the plot was enjoyable.
