2022 reading catch up

Raven Strategem & Revenant Gun by Yoon Ha Lee. The two sequels to Ninefox Gambit. As is my usual MO, I liked the first book best. But these were still really enjoyable although a little difficult for me to follow in places and I have no idea how I'm supposed to feel about Jedao.

The Seer and the Sword by Victoria Hanley. One of my favorite books when I was like 13 and I still like to re-read it every so often. This actually got nominated for Yuletide and I was like !! but then no one requested it so sad.

The Dispossessed by Ursula K. LeGuin. What can I say about LeGuin and her unique stylistic voice and cultural worldbuilding? This fucked me up.

Padawan by Kirstein White. I kept seeing excerpts of this posted on tumblr and they looked very fun. Downloaded Hoopla so I could read it and I highlighted a bunch of delightful sections. Gremlin Obi-Wan content of the highest order.

Beloved by Toni Morrison. I can't think of words for this.

To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers. Novellas continue to be my ideal reading length. Honestly not a lot of feelings about this. The ending was affecting.

Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I should have re-read the other books before reading this so I could follow better but I enjoyed the writing and insane character dynamics!

And also, gigantic study book for a work thing.

I too was hoping someone would request "Seer and the Sword" for Yuletide. Maybe next year.

I have written drabbles for it before :) (I was hoping to expand the time travel one into a longer fic but did not get around to it.)
