I don't know the fandom, but I do love what you've managed to do with this scene. The fact that Magnus is living in his father's house, and the fact that it now belongs to him hangs heavy with the complicated feelings of grief and family relations (whether that relationship was healthy or not, the fact that it's ended and Magnus is staying in its shadows means something difficult). The centuries deep dust that's settled into the furniture and what that can mean. The comparatively comfortable relationship Magnus shares with Alec showed in their easy banter and the support Alec shows. This is well done.
