thank you, wayback machine

The day has come that Redbyrd's Stargate Fanfiction site no longer works :( And did I ever get around to downloading my favorite stories against this fateful day? Of course, I did not.

HOWEVER, the Wayback Machine has saved me! The fics can still be accessed via it here. (I don't think Redbyrd intentionally took the site and fics down, the hosting service probably lapsed.) And I am now working on downloading my favorites because these are really some of my favorite fics in the fandom and I'd hate to lose them!

comments

Snowflake Challenge 2020 - Day 11

Challenge #11: – Recommend a fannish or creative resource

All the Star Wars planets and where they are in the galaxy! I've been making up planet names for a fic and just having this list is so much better. Although, sometimes I get sucked into it too far.

Also, keyboard short cuts are fabulous. I use some of the basic ones in Google Docs so I think they translate outside of Word.

And I just figured out yesterday how to add emojis on tumblr: Command + Control + Spacebar. (This may still be a weird way, and possibly Mac specific.) Also seems to work for AO3 comments which I think support emojis now.

comments

Gif Making

This week I made a gifset for Black Sails and it reminded me that it took me forever to learn how to gif and that I don't do it often enough to actually remember a lot of the details in the steps.

I always meant to make myself a cheat sheet. There are many tutorials out there but the ones I found were mostly like graduate level gif making. I'm at the 101 level here using an old copy of PhotoShop CS5.
( Cheat Sheet )

comments

Technical Difficulties

Does anyone know if there's a way to filter for posts that you've made to a comm? I do not keep good track of things I've already recced or have been queuing up to rec or I just randomly marked for later somehow.

comments
